Dr. Andrew Hall
Dr. Andrew Hall HBSc, MSc, DDS
Dr. Andrew Hall, who was born and raised in Hamilton Ontario, has long called Parry Sound his second home. Since he was born, he has spent the majority of his summers camping and cottaging in the Parry Sound area with his family, particularly on Mill Lake. For many years during high school and university, he worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at Waubuno beach, while serving as the beach supervisor for the majority of his time there. More recently, Dr. Hall has been splitting his time between the Belleville area during the week for work, and the Parry Sound area on the weekends for fun. When the opportunity arose to join the team at Parry Sound Family Dentistry, Andrew knew it was one he could not pass up, and he is looking very forward to returning to the Parry Sound area to work and be involved in the community!
In 2012, Dr. Hall graduated with Honours from McMaster University, completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Following this, Dr. Hall continued his studies at his alma mater, where in 2014, he completed his Masters of Science degree in Biomechanics and Ergonomics. During his time at McMaster, Dr. Hall published several research articles in well-respected scholarly journals in the field of Biomechanics and Ergonomics. Dr. Hall’s research primarily focused around shoulder and hand positioning while performing a workplace task, and its relation to injury. Following his masters, Dr. Hall attended the University of Toronto for dental school, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
During his time at both McMaster and the University of Toronto, Dr. Hall was heavily involved in school extracurriculars, including athletics, student councils, ski trips, and numerous school wide events and charity initiatives. As a result of his involvement at the Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Hall was the recipient of the prestigious Gordon Cressy Student Leadership Award, which is presented to students who have made outstanding extra-curricular contributions to their faculty or school.
When it comes to the practice of dentistry, Dr. Hall has a keen interest in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, and oral surgery. Dr. Hall is a strong believer in the fact the practice of dentistry requires life long learning, and has taken several continuing education courses in implant, cosmetic and restorative dentistry to continually improve his surgical skills. Dr. Hall believes firmly in a patient centred approach, and takes great pride in delivering professional and ethical dental care to his patients, all while maintaining a high standard of care. It was this patient centred approach that first drew Dr. Hall to Dr. Raimundo and her team at Parry Sound Family Dentistry, as very quickly it was evident that she and her staff also share this same patient centred practice philosophe.
During his free time, Dr. Hall enjoys spending time outdoors. In addition to working as a lifeguard at Waubuno Beach, Dr. Hall is also an a NCCP level 1 certified Wakeboard and Waterski instructor, and has taught children and adults of all ages in the Parry Sound and Muskoka area how to wakeboard, wakesurf, and waterski. Besides wakeboarding, Dr. Hall also enjoys playing hockey, snowboarding, golfing (any tips to improve his short game are greatly appreciated), fishing, camping, woodworking, mountain biking, chainsaw carving, and staying active. Recently, Dr. Hall has taken up an interest in learning how to play the guitar, however, progress has been very slow.
Dr. Hall is looking very forward to getting to spend some more time in the Parry Sound area, and working with the patients and team at Parry Sound Family Dentistry!
